Help spread the truth about Telangana region of India. Since 1956, when Andhra and Telangana merged, Telangana has gotten the short end of the stick in terms of natural resources, funding and representation in government. Though two major rivers have their sources in Telangana, irrigation projects divert the precious water to other areas. The feelings have often spilled over into violence, and in 1969, 400 people died in Telangana-related violence.

Srikrishna report full of blatant lies: HC judge

Justice L Narasimha Reddy of the AP High Court on Thursday described the 'secret' contents of the Srikrishna Committee as full of lies and mind-boggling descriptions of non-existent things.

"It is unfortunate that this report and its related exercise was presided over by a former judge of the Supreme Court," he told additional solicitor general M Raveendran. The issue came up when the judge was hearing a petition filed by former Congress MP M Narayan Reddy demanding chapter 8 of the committee report, which was submitted to the Centre in a sealed envelope, be made public. "This committee has spent Rs 40 crore of public money for preparing its report. Any person with a semblance of faith in the system of democracy would lose faith in it. The report prepared by the front office of an MP would have been more sensible than this report. Even the high command of a political party would have hesitated to prepare such a report," he noted.
